Core Considerations for Early Childhood Classroom Design - School Constructions News

Core Considerations for Early Childhood Classroom Design.

Childcare centers are vital for a child's early development, serving as safe havens that can be creatively transformed into dynamic spaces fostering... One of the factors that influence safety is the furniture choices by the kindergartens. If the kindergarten is a frenzy of colour and confusion, that’s a backfire. So, be careful with your choices in colour match for your kindergarten design plan. Upholstered chairs are less preferable because of possible allergy issues with them and they tend to be bit dusty and soiled as the time pass. Safety should be of the most priority while designing a kindergarten school.

Furniture

A diverse book collection is the foundation of the kindergarten classroom. This includes picture books, early readers, storybooks, and informational books covering a wide range of topics and interests. Displayed on low shelves or placed where children can easily see and choose what they want to read. Create a comfortable and inviting reading area with soft seating to encourage children to spend time reading and exploring books.

The classroom environment should be designed close to nature to satisfy children’s curiosity and open their horizons and imagination. The natural environment can regulate children’s emotions to a certain extent and help to develop a better character. Usually, there are various areas in the kindergarten, such as games, music, art, dramatic play, etc. Exposure to nature has been thought to be necessary for brain development in children. Hence, the kindergarten design ideas should take more inspiration from nature. Designing kindergartens is often an opportunity for interior designers to release their inner child and experiment with bright colours in unexpected ways.

In addition to reading stories to your students, kindergarten classroom ideas should also provide them with opportunities to tell their own stories. Set up a storytelling corner with puppets, props, and costumes where students can act out stories or create their own. Encourage them to use their imagination and creativity to come up with characters, settings and plots. By incorporating storytelling into your classroom, you are not only developing imagination, but also language skills, critical thinking and empathy.

A Kindergarten classroom should be a space where children may learn through play. The benefits of learning through play help children reduce stress and learn how to interact and communicate with others. One of the best methods to accomplish this is to include some hanging decorations in the classroom. Children should be encouraged to read from an early age, so kindergarten should have a relatively quiet and good reading area in the classroom that can foster good reading habits in children. Children who love to read are more likely to use their brains to solve problems, which will also enhance their learning ability in the future.

15 Driveway Ideas That Add Major Curb Appeal

driveways design

There will also be rules about the permitted turning radius in a curved driveway. A freeform-shaped driveway can also maximize your available space, providing utility alongside elegance. With this liquid look, your driveway will become more than just a path for vehicles, but a fluid sculpture accentuating the beauty of your home. Stamped concrete paver bricks serve as the perfect canvas for your creativity, allowing you to design an outdoor space that is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Gravel and slate driveway

Step into the world of creative driveway solutions and let the cobblestone concrete path lead you to a blend of history and innovation. This isn’t any ordinary driveway; it’s a bold statement of sophistication and taste. Whether it’s for a contemporary urban home or a sleek countryside mansion, the black-painted hue offers a touch of luxury, ensuring your driveway isn’t just functional but undeniably classy.

We love the pink flowers popping out above the stone retaining wall, and the stairs that lead through the garden and up onto the porch makes any entrance a grand one. If you want to add even more interest to your driveway, throw in a custom water feature. We love how it elevates the look of this gravel driveway by Glengate Company with a bluestone apron and Cor-Ten edging. Uniform sections of gravel and asphalt give this extra-long driveway by Glengate Company a more dynamic look than it would have if it were made of a single material. The stark contrast of the light gravel and dark asphalt looks appealing too. Plus, the boxwood hedge along the curve of the gravel is a beautiful way to add some more greenery and create privacy.

8 outdated front yard trends that need to go, plus expert advice on how to replace them.

Ideally, you don't want the car looming through the windows when you're inside, nor blocking access to the front door. Limiting where cars can drive in and park will also give your more room for planting, creating a finish that's sympathetic to your home's exterior design. Curved driveways, while more aesthetically pleasing, come with higher costs due to their complexity. The additional labor and materials needed to achieve the desired curves can increase the overall price, making it a choice for those willing to invest more for beauty. Proper preparation is key to ensuring a smooth driveway installation process. This involves clearing the designated area of any debris, vegetation, or obstacles that could hinder construction.

This is a single-stone layer, created by applying a film of resin onto the surface, and scattering clean, dry aggregate on top – meaning it is quite rough and there may be some loose stone. Newer products are permeable; it's suitable for slopes; is available in different colors and textures, and even can be laid over existing asphalt and concrete. It can be modern or traditional, minimalist, or surrounded by luscious front yard landscaping.

With patterned concrete slabs, you’re not just laying a foundation but crafting an artwork. The intricate crisscross patterns can evoke admiration, serving as a brilliant conversation starter. For the forward-thinking man who appreciates nature’s touch amidst urban structures, a concrete paver driveway with grass joints seamlessly blends the best of both worlds. Unlike asphalt pavements that are made with nonrenewable petroleum supplies, concrete pavements are made from abundant, sustainable resources including water, natural rock and sand, and cement. The predominant raw material for the cement in concrete is limestone, the most abundant mineral on earth. Once you become the proud owner of a concrete driveway, it won't take much effort on your part to keep it looking its best for many years to come.

The seamless transition from the driveway to the walkway also creates such a cohesive facade, while the awnings soften the front of the house. Block paving can be laid in different patterns and formations to suit the style of your home. It’s made from concrete, clay bricks or natural stone and is available in various tones and textures, from greys
and blacks to sand and red brick hues, with finishes from smooth
to sawn. The blocks can vary
in size from around mm
and are a budget-friendly option.

The natural landscape and topography of your property can greatly influence your driveway shape choice. Curved or S-shaped driveways can gracefully navigate around natural obstacles like trees or slopes, integrating seamlessly with the landscape. In contrast, flat terrains offer more flexibility, allowing for a wider range of shapes including circular or wide driveways.

Asphalt and Belgian Blocks

Whether your style leans towards modern sophistication, rustic charm, or timeless elegance, we have carefully curated a selection of driveway designs to suit every taste and architectural theme. This article is a look at the best driveway ideas—an inspiring collection that celebrates the often overlooked but essential element of your home’s exterior design. Your driveway serves as the welcoming path that leads visitors to your doorstep, and it deserves attention just as much as any other part of your property. In this article, we embark on a journey through a diverse range of driveway ideas that showcase creativity, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.

Curved and circular driveways benefit from strategic planting that complements their shape, guiding the eye and integrating the driveway into the overall landscape. Trees can create a dramatic entrance or provide shade, while ground cover plants can fill in gaps and soften hard edges, making the driveway an integral part of your garden. If you’re aiming for a dramatic entrance, circular or serpentine driveways can make a statement. For a minimalist and modern look, straight or L-shaped driveways might be preferable. Custom driveways offer the most flexibility for matching your aesthetic vision exactly. The main purpose of your driveway is utilitarian, but there’s no denying the impact it has on your home’s curb appeal.

Teenagers get blamed for this most often, but I think the damage is more commonly caused when visitors and service people veer off the drive, being unfamiliar with your particular driveway. On this drive we stamped a band of "bar-tile" trim and then stained the entire driveway with 3 colors of acid chemical stains. To create depth to the look, we layer on the color with varying droplet sizes from spray bottles. Generally plan your driveways using feet of length for each car or truck. Allow feet for full size pickups with extended cabs and oversized mini-vans.

This Sureset resin driveway has all the looks of a gravel driveway but with a lot more accessibility and is also low maintenance – no weeds, puddles or loose stones to be swept up. The best driveway shape depends on your property’s size, landscape, and personal preferences. Straight driveways suit minimalist designs, while curved, circular, or U-shaped driveways enhance larger properties with aesthetic appeal. A U-shaped driveway offers ample opportunity for incorporating unique features that enhance both its functionality and appeal. This can include adding a central garden or water feature, which becomes a focal point, or integrating turnaround areas for easier navigation. Choosing complementary materials and landscaping can further personalize the space, making it not just a driveway but a standout feature of your property.

The teardrop driveway features a circular turnaround area, providing ease of vehicle movement and an attractive design element. This shape is especially useful for properties with limited space for turning or those seeking to minimize the need for reversing. The central island of the teardrop can be landscaped beautifully, serving as a focal point and adding to the overall aesthetic of the property. Teardrop driveways combine functionality with design elegance, making them a popular choice for homeowners looking to enhance their property’s appeal and usability. When considering a new driveway, the shape you choose can significantly impact your property’s curb appeal and functionality. Driveway shapes vary widely, offering each homeowner the chance to find the perfect match for their home and lifestyle.

While random cracks are generally not a structural problem and will not reduce the service life of the driveway, they can be an eyesore. Also avoid joint patterns that produce rectangular or triangular sections. Your concrete installer should hand tool or sawcut them to a depth equaling one-fourth the slab thickness (or 1 inch for a 4-inch slab).

The U-shape also encloses a portion of the yard, creating a private and inviting courtyard effect that can be landscaped for added beauty and privacy. Designed to mimic the appearance of wooden planks, this driveway is sure to give your property an edge that’s both creative and engaging. But there’s more to it than just good looks; this design ensures a durable surface that stands the test of time, all while making sure your home remains the talk of the town.

A portrait of Robinson’s father hangs in Jessica’s library dining room. “Matthew and Serena quickly established Swift House Inn as a friend to the arts … [and themselves] as community-minded leaders in Addison County,” Lisa Mitchell, executive director of Middlebury’s Town Hall Theater, said. The house became the primary residence of his daughter, Jessica Stewart Swift, in 1939. Over the next several decades, until she died at age 110 in 1982, Swift supported many local institutions with significant financial contributions. Kim said neighbors have shared stories about how she would serve hot cocoa to children whom she invited to sled down the sloping front lawn.

He later learned that Kim had always dreamed of living in a New England college town, partly influenced by her favorite book, Saul Bellow’s Herzog. She admitted that she was also wary when a friend of Robinson’s observed that he was such a gracious and adept host that he should consider buying a small hotel. Robinson, however, was intrigued and signed up for an aspiring innkeeper program offered at a hospitality trade show. For Robinson, 59, the move to Vermont was an East Coast homecoming. He grew up just south of Buffalo, N.Y., where his father was a bookbinder at the Roycroft arts and crafts community.

Among others, that portfolio includes the $25m Beverly Hills mansion you see here. "I got to check out the world's largest greenhouse. How about that? I'm a big plant guy. Loved seeing fucking enormous trees," Kelce said on the podcast. "It was cool as fuck; they had the world's biggest waterfall in a greenhouse, too." Kelce was particularly excited about his experience at the gardens and raved about it to his brother, Jason, on an episode of their "New Heights" podcast released on March 31.

Upgrades aside, Swift House’s three buildings — the main house, the carriage house and the gatehouse — retain their essential Victorian-era character. “I like to say they kind of rhyme with the period,” Robinson said. After several months of pandemic-related delays, the couple moved from Los Angeles to Vermont on July 4, 2020, and closed on the property that September, during peak foliage season.

However, she insists that she and her lover aren't on that level, touting poet Dylan Thomas and musician Patti Smith instead. As a child, this native Vermonter was drawn to the warmth and the bustle of the family kitchen. Naturally gifted at a young age, he followed a recipe and baked an apple pie at the age of nine. He grew up on the land, foraging, gardening, and sourcing food locally long before it was a movement. Swift House Inn in Middlebury was the ideal choice because of its proximity to Middlebury College and its prestigious Bread Loaf Writers Program. The town also offered a wealth of cultural amenities and progressive local politics.

She immediately fell in love with the art of crafting cocktails and has been sharing her talents ever since. Now, Matthew spends his days running operations at the inn and plotting his next round of renovations, while Serena handles gardening and marketing. Of course she still finds time to write, especially about their new life in Vermont. Matthew and Serena were married on July 3, 2021 at Swift House Inn. Just as Matthew and Serena were about to pull the trigger on the purchase, the pandemic hit in full force, the inn was shut down, and their plans were delayed indefinitely. Ultimately, they decided to return to Vermont and summer at the inn until the deal went through in the fall of 2020.

The bar staying open until 10 pm was also very nice, as I had an obligation until about 9 pm. While we'd argue that it's of no use to try and understand the inner workings or "whys" in Swift's songwriting and lyric choices, the Chelsea Hotel has long been a sanctuary for "tortured" artists. On this album, Swift dives into the emotionally fraught people and places in her life over the past two years. Had she been of a previous generation, she might have avoided the rough scene the hotel is known, but she's of the same artistic caliber as its famous residents.

This range of work heightens their understanding of how design can influence and be influenced by its environment. President and Chief Executive Officer Justin Krzyston founded Stonehurst Construction + Design in 2005 after being frustrated with the lack of emphasis his previous contractor employer had towards the client relationship side of each job. The company has earned a reputation for building excellent client relationships and for making homeowners feel comfortable throughout the process of design and building. He sets realistic expectations and keeps clients informed through every step of creating their custom homes. Krzyston’s small in-house team are known for being true professionals who are highly organized and competent in their respective fields of work. Taken together with the firm’s excellent design and construction skills, this makes for beautiful, well-built homes and many thrilled, loyal customers.

How to Build Your First House in Ark: Survival Evolved

ark house

Those materials are essential to building a delightful abode. If you’re having trouble gaining the required levels, just spend more time gathering resources and fighting any of the smaller dinosaurs you happen across. Similar to Creveling, Longstaff looks at real structures for his building inspiration. In every new project he undertakes he tries to make every part of it as authentic as possible, using reference material as a blueprint to ensure he stays on track.

Process: Referring a Patient to Ark House

The Bellmar ID is the colored plastic wrist band located in a small plastic box on the table in your apartment. The social worker will verify your need for low-cost housing and must submit a referral to an Ark House Occupancy volunteer. You should start by quickly leveling up your character to level 4, which unlocks building options such as the Thatch Wall, Thatch Roof, Thatch Doorway, and so forth.

PATIENT REFERRAL TO ARK HOUSE

A shopping center with grocery store and restaurants is nearby. All requests for an Ark House apartment must be made through a social worker at the Dallas hospital where treatment is being received. You might go on to build a proper mansion someday, but your initial dwelling should be rather small. At first, focus on producing a Thatch Foundation, a Thatch Doorway, a Thatch Door, and seven Thatch Wall panels. Those particular supplies let you fashion a 2x2 square home, since the door counts as one of your side panels. Then you should finish up by creating four Thatch Roof pieces, allowing you to properly enclose your hut.

Form 990s for The Ark House

Patient should reside at least fifty (50) miles from Dallas. If a little closer, you may refer patient for consideration. Ark House is part of an apartment complex located in North Dallas near Royal Lane and US Highway 75 (North Central Expressway).

Organization Data

Ark has fostered a dedicated building community, even in spite of the game’s many restrictions in that area. These individuals aren’t focused on protecting themselves against griefers or the occasional toothy predator. Instead, they’re attempting to create imaginative designs, showcasing their dexterity and skill with the surprising versatility of the game’s limited building mechanics. Before you submit an Application or pay any fees or deposits, you have the right to review the Application and Lease, as well as any community rules or policies we have.

The need for such housing was great and the apartment was always in demand. In response to the need, additional apartments were rented and furnished. In some cases, the patient is not able to complete the application.

AMENITIES and COMMON AREAS

At Ark House we understand the challenges facing individuals who are undergoing extended medical treatment. Finding reasonably priced, comfortable, temporary housing can be an additional worry in an already stressful situation. By providing economical living quarters, we hope to ease the financial burden brought on by medical crisis so that families can use their energy to return to good health. He has been playing the game since it was first released on Steam Early Access back in 2015 and believes it’s this lengthy and tumultuous development that has contributed to the more pliable nature of the building mechanics. Work history information may be used only for this Application. Authority to obtain this information expires 365 days from the date of this Application.

Most board members are First United Methodist Church of Richardson members. Ask any board member and they will tell you that their commitment stems from understanding the positive impact that Ark House has on patients facing life threatening medical issues. By 1995 seven apartments were available and by the year 2010 Ark House had grown to 21 apartments.

Ark House provides fully furnished apartments in the North Dallas area. Apartments come fully equipped with kitchen utensils, linens, cable TV, everything to make a resident feel like this is home-away-from-home. There is NO paid staff; all money collected goes to support the Ark House operations. In 2023, we expect to provide 4,900 days of stay for our residents.

In Ark, you can’t place a perfectly round foundation naturally, but it is possible to do so when mashing together a number of foundations using pillars. Notable builders Gingie, Leerlink, and Captain Fatdog pioneered the technique, and it’s since been put to great use across a number of ambitious builds. The Board of Directors assumes an active role in the daily operations of Ark House and several have been with the organization since its inception in 1985.

In those cases, we ask the Social Worker or medical staff member to identify a “Primary Point of Contact” who can act as the patient’s advocate and complete all application steps. The referral and application forms have been revised to be “phone friendly” to ease the application process. The class supported the project for several years but with the addition of more apartments the project grew beyond the class’s ability to manage. A Board of Directors was appointed to Oversee Ark House operations. In 1998, the Ark House Foundation (AHF) was incorporated as an  independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to provide funding to Ark House.

Additionally, referrals expire after 90 days and must be renewed to confirm continuing medical care. To provide safe, low cost temporary housing for out of town patients and their families while undergoing extended medical treatment in the Dallas area. You declare that all your statements in this Application are true and complete. You authorize AH to verify your information through any means, including consumer-reporting agencies and other rental-housing owners. You acknowledge that you had an opportunity to review our rental-selection criteria, which include reasons your Application may be denied, such as criminal history, credit history, current income, and rental history.

The mission of Ark House is to provide low-cost temporary housing for out of town patients and their families while undergoing extended medical treatment in the Dallas area. Ark House began in 1985 as a project of the Ark Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church Richardson. One of their class members, Ben Glomb, required extended cancer treatment at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston and his family found few options available for affordable housing. Ben and his wife suggested a Sunday School Class project might be to begin an apartment ministry to serve people coming to Dallas hospitals for medical treatment. Regrettably, Ben passed away before seeing the project implemented, but as a memorial to him, Ark House was created.

If there are grayed out ones, you can hover over them to see what supplies you still need to produce them. When you’re starting out, though, you’ll just want to keep things simple. In closing, I ask both builders what tips and advice they’d give to someone hoping to join the community and attempt larger, more ambitious builds. Click button below and type patient residence address into the from field on map.

Not only did Longstaff have to glitch the pillars to appear at different heights, he also needed to place three separate layers of wall using fence posts to achieve the church’s denser outline. “I have always tried to make my builds look like they would in a real-life environment with structural support and doors where they should be,” Longstaff says. “I also use Google Images quite a lot, so as an example, if I was building a beach house I would search for real-world beach houses and select three or four that jump out at me then use them for the blueprint. Travis Creveling, known online as TLC 138, is another YouTuber who specializes in videos about building spectacular designs in Ark.

You will receive specific instructions on locating the apartment when an apartment is available for you. One of Creveling’s most impressive constructions, a highly-detailed oil platform, uses the round foundation technique. It took him weeks to perfect and includes a decorative crane, a helipad, and a bunch of multi-coloured struts, all of which had to be carefully nudged together. Grilling is only allowed on the permanent grills located in the courtyard near the pool. This Application and the Lease are binding documents when signed. Before submitting an Application or signing a Lease, you may make a copy of these documents to review and/or consult an attorney.

All funds raised go to pay the rent and to maintain a quality environment for our clients. Please inform the patient, family, and or the primary point of contact that Ark House requires the application process be completed within seven (7) days of initial contact by Ark House. The background checks take time and we can not effectively serve the patient/family without completing the background checks at the time of application. The referral will not be considered after the seven days have passed.

How Far is Patient from Dallas

In lawsuits relating to the Application or Lease, the prevailing party may recover from the non-prevailing party all attorney's fees and litigation costs. We do not sell your information or provide it to third parties for any purpose not directly related to this application. Ark House (AH) leases apartments on a long-term basis and sub-leases those apartments at a substantial discount to out of town patients temporarily while they undergo extended medical care away from their home. The Occupancy Agreements (sub-leases) require a minimum of seven (7) day stay and expire at 90-days. The Occupancy Agreements may be extended at Ark House discretion based on re-certification of medical need, timely payment of rent, and appropriate occupant behavior. As these apartments are not intended as a permanent residence, extension beyond 360 days is rare.

Form 990s for The Ark House

Like Longstaff, he stresses the importance of workarounds not intended by the development team when it comes to making the larger builds possible, pointing specifically to the circle build trick as a particular breakthrough in the community. Operating funds to cover the spread between the daily resident charge and the daily cost to furnish and maintain the apartments centrally located to the major hospitals in Dallas. All funds raised go to Ark House operations to maintain a safe, quality environment. If you wish to contact other Ark House residents in the apartment complex, Ark House apartments can be recognized by the combination locks on the apartment door. This might be helpful in case of minor issues or if you wish to visit with another resident; for example–exchanging information on how to get around the city or locating a store near the apartment or hospital. To help provide a safe environment and to assure that only Bellmar East & Ark House residents are using the amenities, residents must have their Bellmar ID wrist band with them when using the amenities or when they are in the common areas.

Patient Referral

Ark may be known for its bad neighbours, but like most online games there are a number of positive communities blossoming around its features. It demonstrates the power of collaboration and the desire to play beyond the developer’s intended experience. His medieval church build is a great example of this process. It’s arguably his most complex project, as it uses a number of different techniques that the community has discovered over the years.

AMENITIES and COMMON AREAS

During our nearly 38 year history, we have welcomed clientele from many distant locales including multiple foreign countries and numerous states outside of Texas, in addition to many patients from all parts of Texas. We charge a nominal daily fee for the apartment to provide an affordable option for our clients who are from the lower income bracket. Operating expense are approximately $40.00 a day per apartment so additional operating funds are needed to cover the differential and to maintain the affordable rent.

Additional provisions or changes may be made in the Lease ONLY if agreed to in writing by all parties. The Ark House relies on the financial support of the Ark House Foundation (AHF), an independent , non-profit organization. The  AHF receives no government funding and is not directly affiliated with any religious institution. The Ark House Foundation relies upon public support through a network of generous individual donors and corporate sponsors.

Process: Referring a Patient to Ark House

Referrals may ONLY be submitted by a medical facility staff member with direct knowledge of the patient and/or family members being referred to Ark House. The application process will not be initiated the without an appropriate referral. The first Ark House apartment, located near Baylor Hospital, was rented and furnished by members of the Ark Sunday School Class.

Our residents are referred to us by the social workers from the local Dallas hospitals. We serve a wide variety of ethnicity, gender, and age clients and their families. Medical needs range from cancer treatments, organ transplants, accident recovery, and treatments for long term illnesses.

Start Small

In those cases, we ask the Social Worker or medical staff member to identify a “Primary Point of Contact” who can act as the patient’s advocate and complete all application steps. A Board of Directors was appointed to Oversee Ark House operations. In 1998, the Ark House Foundation (AHF) was incorporated as an  independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to provide funding to Ark House.

Ark House currently provides 16 fully furnished apartments based on current demand. Please understand that Ark House maintains a waitlist and may not be able to accept new occupants at your exact time of need. Ark House units are part of a mid-sized gated apartment complex with on-site maintenance and amenities including a swimming pool, exercise room, gated parking, and on-site laundry facilities.

The patient or their representative should have been or will be contacted by an Ark House representative to coordinate the application process. What is most remarkable about these builds isn’t necessarily the level of detail or the time taken to get everything perfect. It’s how completely out of place many of these builds are within the game’s stone age aesthetic. Studio Wildcard never expected players to build structures and buildings to this size and scale, yet the community are collaborating and sharing knowledge to push the mechanics and attempt ever more outlandish concepts.

After six years in the engineering industry, Kimberly recognized a need for more quality diverse businesses in Kansas City’s engineering community. With a simple plan to deliver quality work, on schedule and under budget, she and Trent founded TREKK in 2002. At TREKK, we improve lives by providing direction to enable community and personal growth.

Balance Hill

Growing up, her business owner father instilled in her his unwillingness to accept failure and entrepreneurial spirit. Sadly, he passed away when she was just 12, leaving behind Kimberly, her mother and her two sisters. Driven by her mother’s strength in the face of adversity, Kimberly stepped up to help care for her siblings, building the traits of leadership, self-confidence and resilience that characterize her today. TREKK’s leadership team embodies our core values, drives our entrepreneurial culture, and they’re pretty fun, too. In fact, many of our team members have been with us since the beginning and now serve as leaders and mentors to others.

We encourage staff to speak at conferences and panels and to be involved in thought leadership throughout our industry. Characterized by her mother’s resolve and her father’s fearlessness, it’s no surprise Kimberly became an entrepreneur. She has built TREKK’s culture around her personal purpose of IMPROVING LIVES through service to the community.

TREKK’s entrepreneurial spirit starts with our founders, Kimberly and Trent Robinett, who decided to follow their dreams to serve others. TREKK’s early projects focused primarily on transportation and site development work across Kansas City. That niche led us to open TREKK’s first regional office in Omaha, Nebraska to assist with that city’s combined sewer overflow program. As TREKK has grown and evolved, so has Trent’s role within the company. Today, he’s responsible for project delivery and TREKK’s business development functions. He works directly with staff to help them deliver solutions to TREKK clients. Ever the optimist, Trent enjoys coaching and mentoring staff to find ways to make a difference in their communities.

With the future of some infrastructure projects up in the air right now, firms like TREKK are worried about the impact. “We work for a lot of municipalities and we’re beginning to see the budget challenges that lie ahead for many of them. There’s just a lot of uncertainty going forward,” said Robinett. One thing Brock learned from his football career at South Dakota State University is that two steps into a route, the play can change. So when you combine an education in civil engineering with an all-conference wide receiver, you get a very non-traditional engineer.

This gives him the opportunity to share with staff the company purpose and vision of IMPROVING LIVES taught to him by Kimberly. Our entrepreneurial culture empowers us to engineer holistic, commonsense solutions that support the growth and restoration of the communities we serve. Innovation, creativity and free thinking are encouraged to deliver quality solutions that match our clients’ needs. We derive success and fulfillment from the impact our work has in the communities we call home and the people we serve. We call this IMPROVING LIVES, and we’ve been proud to do so since 2002. TREKK was built around passionate, trustworthy difference makers.

She enjoys sharing new travel experiences with them, reading, and solving complex puzzles, like conquering every escape room she’s entered. All three girls share her competitive spirit and emotional intelligence. She is active at her church and in numerous civic and industry organizations and gives back through mentoring. Kimberly is also a Kansas City Business Journal 2016 Women Who Mean Business honoree. Our collaborative and strategic approach ensures long term success.

Brock always keeps his eye on the ball when it comes to client satisfaction and a quality end product. TREKK has grown and evolved, but as the firm’s CEO/Managing Partner, Kimberly has remained the constant beacon that sets the company’s course. She oversees the company’s overall operations and strategic direction. Her compassion, wisdom and kindness resonate throughout TREKK and is what makes us different.
